Oddly it will happily photocopy black and white. Check documents on compatibility, FAQs, upgrade information and available fixes. Black only or gray scale is still fine.

for some reason the Plain-EC and Plain papers printed in different colors.If there are no issues in the ink cartridge and still the Epson printer wont print black, then there are more chances that the Mechanical noises during the cleaning process are normal.

I have detailed both:For the photoshop one, from what I can remember, (I haven't used Photoshop since this incident two years ago, so my memory of it may not be the best) Photoshop comes with its own built-in color management system, so when you print something through the app, (at least on desktop, never tried it from my phone) it overrides anything the printer has in place to tell it what colors go where. No matter how many settings I have double checked, rechecked, troubleshooted many times againI am stuck with black only even if I make a copy of something in full color. The purple your describe is looking more magenta to me which indicates double color managemet. Purple will result when cyan and magenta are utilized in an equal ratio in a file for printing. When the last cleaning stage completes, a test page prints.

So I believe the issue is happening somewhere within the print settings of my canon.
